A native of Avery County, I have worked in the construction industry my entire life. I studied at Tampa Bay Technical College and Mayland Community College and am a licensed electrician and general contractor. I have experience in many different areas of the construction industry including commercial, residential, industrial, bridge and heavy highway construction. I hold a CDL license and am a skilled heavy equipment operator. In the early 80s I married my partner of 46 years, Doris, and together we started Wheels Construction Company. We have three children and are proud to see the company continue to grow through the leadership of our oldest son Derek. In my free time, I enjoy riding my Harley and playing with my grandchildren, Stone, Mica, Finn, and Elin.
